Many people are not aware of the wide range of useful, and free computer software programs offered by Comodo. And when I say free, I mean not only free for personal use, but unlike most companies, when COMODO says free they mean free for business use too.

To the best of my knowledge all of the “free” software offered by COMODO is free for both business/commercial and person use, which makes this company the go to source for anyone looking for great business software at the best price possible.
Please be aware that policies can change, and although some of these programs have been free for years and that appears to be the model COMODO is using going forward, it is up to you the user to ensure you comply with the policy of the software maker, whether it is COMODO or any other company.

COMODO Security Software
Free Comodo Antivirus – Although this is a good standalone antivirus, I would still suggest going with Comodo Internet Security listed below.
Comodo Antivirus for Mac – Many people believe a Mac is safer, but the truth is they are just not targeted as often due to the fact that there a far fewer Macs, and so it is not as profitable to write a virus to target the system. Being able to ensure you are safe for FREE makes this a nobrainer. If you are not running an antivirus program on your Mac you should download this now.
Comodo Internet Security – Here is a complete security suite that is much better than the scores it receives in tests by independent labs. The reason for this is very clear, Comodo Internet Security is designed to prevent your computer from becoming infected, not to clean up existing infections and reviews from experts confirm this suite is very capable of preventing infections.
If your system is already infected, this may not the best software for the job. However, no software really is “best” at cleaning up an infected system. If you are already infected the best course of action is to install a good free antivirus AND a malware cleaner, clean things up, backup your important data and reinstall the operating system.
Despite their touted abilities to remove infections no antivirus guarantees 100% success, so you can never be sure your system is actually clean, unless as I have suggested you reformat and reinstall your operating system. After doing so you may wish to consider a program like Comodo that is better at PREVENTING the infection, instead of just cleaning it up.
Comodo Firewall – The #1 rated free firewall software also beat ALL of the paid firewall software in the latest matousec.com Proactive Security Challenge, scoring a perfect 100% and is the only firewall to do so. If you visit their site to review the results I think you will be shocked by how poor most well known firewall software programs scored.
If you would like to use another antivirus program you feel more comfortable with then this is a great addition, allowing you to create your own custom computer security suite. I know many people swear by the combination of Avast antivirus and this Comodo firewall. Both programs have a sandbox utility making it very difficult for unwanted programs to bypass both.
The Comodo firewall includes two features that add a great deal of security. Defense+ blocks unknown programs from making changes to your system and the sandboxing feature which runs untrusted program in a sandbox where they are unable to make any changes to your system until they are verified by Comodo or approved by you.

Comodo Cleaning Essentials – A very useful suite of utilities including malware removal, antivirus scanning and process explorer/killer among its many useful features. Best of all this program does not need to be installed, it can run on USB drive so you can use it to clean up infections by simply plugging it into the computer.
Since this program does not need to be installed a virus will not be able to detect and prevent it from installing, allowing you to remove a wide range of viruses, malware and rootkits.
This is a must have set of utilities for anyone who has to help friends and family clean up infected systems. The KillSwitch component allows you to identify and kill potentially unsafe processes, making them easier to remove effectively.
Comodo Programs Manager– This program monitors software installations allowing you to completely remove them when they are no longer needed/wanted. It will also remove partially installed/failed installations.
Because Comodo Programs Manager monitors every change made during the installation of a new program you can remove every trace of a program during uninstall, a far better option than the standard Windows uninstall feature.
